Busy Bees and New Challenges

I hope you've all had a good summer.

We spent a week refelting our garage roof  (Dave blamed the seagulls for poking holes in it- but it was rotten and worn out anyway) and another week replacing our kitchen worktops. We had to get the old ones out without damaging the tiles , so they took a ridiculous amount of time to get out and much huffing, puffing and 'easing' to fit in the new ones. Its over 15 years since we last did these jobs and it was so much more effort than when we did them originally ...we cetainly felt the passing of those years. Still - we've ticked off two jobs that'd been pending for a while.

I'm also in the middle of getting a new website built, so I've been choosing what artwork and content to include. Part of the site will be an online tuition section. This will have step by step videos and downloadable information sheets. Eventually there will be lots of individual videos to choose from and some short courses that go into things in more depth. If you have any ideas for subjects or have a particular topic you'd like to see demonstrated or explained let me know.

So the other things that have been keeping me busy, is working out how to get the camcorder in the right place for the shots I needed . Thanks to advice from my photographer friend, Simon, I now have some adjustable mounting arms for this. Then, and this is a big one, I had to get the hang of filming myself and doing the video editing. When I discovered that I no longer had any editing software on this new laptop  (where did it go?) I lost a whole week, whilst I tried to find a replacement program.  Like I say in class, you get better by taking on a challege.

Anyway, I'm hoping the new site will go live in the next month or two.
